The Aftermath of GenCon
The Aftermath of GenCon
I had an amazing time at Gencon this year. I met so many amazing people and loved spending time with my friends that I end up seeing once a year. I ended up not getting much sleep but it was worth it.... except for today. I should have taken Monday off. Next year I would definitely suggest flying in on Wednesday morning, leaving late afternoon on Sunday and taking Monday off.
Games I bought
I went to GenCon already having pledged multiple kickstarter games. I already had received Do, Bulldogs, and Burning Wheel Gold. At GenCon I was on a mission to find Ascension and the expansion. Of course I needed to get the sleeves and travel pack!
I then stopped by Steve Jackson Games where I put all my quarters into the Caspule machine and won Ninja Burger! I got a couple glow in the dark figurines and a Cthulhu pin! Then it was off to Burning Wheel were I got Burning Empires. Across the way was IPR where I might have splurged a bit. Jason Morningstar suggested I check out Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space. Now I have it and will get my game group to play it. I also got Lamentations of the Flame Princess.
Hidden behind the tall wall of tshirts I found Ron Edwards! He showed me 'It was a Mutual Decision' and I decided I wanted to check it out. I ran into Jason Morningstar again and he told me to check out "The Resistance" at the Indie Boards and Cards both. Now I just have to find time to play all these games.
GenCon Interviews
I got to do 4 interviews at GenCon. I will be putting them out on Thursdays for the next four weeks. That's a double dose of Jennisodes a week for you all! Check out the episodes with Steve Jackson, RA Salvatore, Cryptozoic Entertainment, and George Strayton.
Awesome things at GenCon
I got to play True Dungeon again with friends again. We died but it was worth it. I also played Iron GM which was loads of fun and got dice beads!! Hanging out with tons of friends, playing rpgs and eating at Steak n Shake and the Noodle Compnay rounded out my weekend. It was an amazing time and I can't wait for next year.
