Project Ninja Panda Taco

The Project Ninja Panda Taco kickstarter is going full steam ahead! We are over 68% of the goal and have just about 9 days left to make it happen.

I wanted to post a couple updates below about the breakdown of the goal amount, playing in the classroom, and playing Project NPT online.

Breakdown

I discussed the breakdown of the goal a bit on story-games. $12,500 is a very ambitious goal but I feel that we can reach it together. When I started designing Project NPT I knew I wanted it to be hard cover, full color and filled with amazing art. I decided to do a full print run of 1,000 books instead of doing Print on Demand or a smaller print run. The biggest factor in this decision was the size of the book. I want a square size, which is a custom print size. Instead of having a higher price for the customer for Print on Demand I went with the larger print run. Higher cost up front, lower price point on the book.

I also wanted to pay the individuals working on the project a fair rate. Another issue I've seen is damaged books due to shipping. While I can't borrow the Tardis to go back in time to deliver the books (It takes time! I have to be back to record another show) I plan on packaging the books a bit better.

Other item costs I factored in were the pledge levels, taxes, fees (from Amazon and Kickstarter) and contingency for when things go wrong. Adding everything up came to the goal number. The support I have received from so many of you is amazing and I want to thank everyone who has helped me get this far. We have a little bit left and then we can take over the world

Playing in the Classroom

We are currently working on putting together a section and additional information on how to play Project Ninja Panda Taco in the classroom. This game is very kid friendly and I have a feeling the children who play this game will come up with the best Masterminds and Minions. This is a story telling game where you must come up with an outlandish plan to take over the world. It's full of creativity and laughter.

Gaming Online

I know a lot of gamers who have been using Google+ hangouts and other virtual tabletops to play rpgs online. We are working on creating tools and instructions that will allow you to play Project NPT over G+.
