Neverwinter

For the new year one of my resolutions is to read more. I'm pretty busy with the podcast, gaming, and working on Project Ninja Panda Taco but I need to find more time to read. I recently finished the second book in the Neverwinter Saga by RA Salvatore entitled "Neverwinter". I've enjoyed the Drizzt Do'Urden books and found this one as captivating as the others.

Neverwinter

The book starts out with Drizzt traveling with Dahlia Sin'felle, an elf warrior, after the events of Gauntlgrym on their way to Neverwinter. The book focuses on the relationship between the two and how they must stop the Dread Ring from being recreated. I could go on to recap the book but you can find that here (plus wouldn't it be more fun to read the book???). R.A. Salvatore brings in a nice twist that I didn't see coming which made the story tie back to the other Forgetten Realms stories. The book ends in a perfect spot for the third book of the trilogy and I am looking forward to reading it.

I've found that with trilogies the second book can be at times weak and there to set up the final story line. Neverwinter can be read as a stand alone book but also contains a great storyline for Drizzt and Dahlia. There are some amazing fight scenes with Drizzt that area must read.

It was interesting to read this book and find Drizzt working and traveling with Dahlia instead of Bruenor, Cattiebrie, Regis, and Wulfgar. Over the years RA Salvatore has progressed the Drizzt character and developed him into a pretty awesome dark elf. I enjoy reading about how Drizzt has dealt with the death of many friends and continue to fight evil, while trying to hold on to the love he felt from his dear friends. I can not wait for the third book in the trilogy and look forward to hearing how you enjoyed Neverwinter.
